4 shot panoramic. Enjoy.
Randy and I decided to make a pie. Our simplest solution was to use two pie crusts, one covering the other and bake it for an hour. Our peaches were too juicy so the pie didn’t really stay in shape but it was very tasty!
Finally my laptop is back and running but then my external HDD is dying on me…keeps giving me cyclic reduancy errors. Grr.
This past weekend was my company’s camping trip and Rick was very kind to open up his cottage for us to enjoy. Rick is known around the company as a “Man with many toys” and his cottage is no exception. With half a dozen boats, 9 kayaks, and floating devices to entertain 30+ people for the entire weekend.
I woke up at 5am on saturday morning and the sunrise was very beautiful. It was very soothing to sit at the dock, listen to the loons, and watch the sky change colours.
This is a new sport we played. It involves dramatic diving off the docks to catch the frisbee. Some spectacular catches but mostly belly-flops. hehe
Everyone sitting around the campfire and enjoying s’mores.
Many of the ‘Aliens’ have not heard or tried an item called FLUFF (marshmallow spread). Apparently it is a big thing in the US to spread it with peanut butter in sandwiches and it is called ‘Fluffen-nutters’. Paul approves this new sugary treat!
Rick is the Cannon Ball Champ!
Good times! Thanks to those who fed so many people and Rick for opening his place for the weekend.
Happy 20th Birthday!!
This is what I do in class, balance erasers beside Ludwik’s tin pencil case…haha
Last Friday when I got home from work I found my harddrive making strange noises. I was fortunate enough that on Sunday I was able to boot up with the harddrive and backup some data before it really crapped out on me.
Now the big problem is to install Windows XP Tablet edition on a tablet without a CD rom or the Tablet edition. Hong has been very kind and have been trying various things like installing DOS, Win95 to Win98 to WinXP…. Hopefully it will work soon. Due to the lack of computer my desire for taking pictures has also gone down.

Boston is known for its celebration for the 4th of July with its all day concert and grand firework displays. Even though I am not a fan of big crowds I realized that this is a good opportunity to try out some firework shooting techniques.
Together with a few of Randy’s roommate’s friends we packed a watermelon, some jello, and apple pie before heading downtown. If we had wanted really good seats we would have to setup our lawn chairs since 9am but we chose a spot beside the Charles River and pretty close to the T-stop.
Many people thought I was working for some organization so even though my tripod is taking up a whole lot of space and my camera is blocking their views they still let me move in and out of the crowd. Within minutes we realized that the nice breeze we have been enjoying is also carrying the smoke and soot right towards us and is blocking our view from the fireworks!
I moved further down the river and was able to find a open spot with an interesting foreground.
The crowd rushing toward the T-stops.
Nobody was in a rush to get home so we just walked across the bridge and I just had to take some long exposures…
