So Allison sent me an email asking me to help her out and photograph some of her friends as they gather at her house to attend a formal party.
Well I showed up at her house and then she informed me that there will be 60 ladies as well as their dates! I was starting to wonder whether I brought enough memory cards with me…
To make matters worse, the basement was about 6.5ft tall so it was very dim.
Remember trying to get 20 guys to take a team picture? Well multiply that by 3 and replace them with very excited girls!
Overall, I was very pleased with the results and it was fun to meet all these people and try to navigate through the crowded basement.
Saturday morning, Ryan and I went to the Boston Regional FIRST Robotics Competition. It was pretty interesting but I think this year the robots are not as robust as the ones from previous years.
There was a lot of team spirit and
I went to the Museum of Fine Arts in the afternoon and it has some really amazing exhibits. I had to rush through it because I probably won’t have time to go back and I wanted to see all the different exhibits. They had a vast collection of Egyptian artefacts and that was really interesting. It was amazing that different cultures have such different ways to represent things and the amount of detail that goes into each piece of work.
The Orange T-train was being serviced so I took the opportunity to explore places where I would usually be kicked out.
I love desserted buildings/trains, they are full of surprises and mysteries. I was scared someone might be living there….
Turned out the interior is very well preserved (from the weather, not teenagers). It was getting late so I didn’t want to linger there for too long.
My second visit to the New England Aquarium. This time it was pretty empty, probably due to the snowstorm from the previous day, I wanted to take my time and just read about the different species. I love aquariums with its dark and mysterious atmosphere, but it also makes taking pictures really difficult.
Interesting event this week:
I had rounded up about 10 people to go to the circus but about 10minutes before we were leaving from work someone brought up that the circus performs till the 21st and it was the 22nd…apparently when I moved an hour forward at 11:30pm in Bermuda, my watch had not advanced to the next day and so I have been 1 calendar day behind for the past 2 weeks! I haven’t felt that stupid in a long time…and Paul called me a ‘muppet’. LOL.
Boston is the highest percentage of Irish population in the US and so it is no surprise that it also has one of the biggest St.Patrick’s Day celebration.
The Parade was not the most spectaular in terms of float construction but it certainly was unique. I will let the pictures demostrate my point.
We were all getting pretty cold standing for over an hour, Oliver had to put on his big furry hood.
A platoon of Star War troopers was definitely the highlight.
