Last Stretch

July 23, 2007

Yesterday’s sunset was very beautiful, I got home, got my camera and was just in time to catch the rays breaking out of the clouds.

Last week…till exams start. Been at the lab a lot lately so don’t have anything too interesting to post. This was our wiring for the High-Voltage Actuators Lab for DC motor speed control…quite brutal to setup, especially when you run out of time and have to start cleaning up just as you got it running.

2 Weeks Left…

July 18, 2007

Salmon is so yummy, it almost taste like pork….haha.

1.5 weeks of lectures left and we have about a dozen more assignments due. We can only handle so much stress, Brandon here is a fine example.

I am going to pay for slacking off earlier in the term. Sounds familiar? :)

Mechatronics F.C. Vs F.C. Mechatronics

July 13, 2007

Soccer is a big thing in our class, this term about 30% of the class is on the soccer teams. Leading up to the head to head game there was a lot of trash talking and clashes between the two teams. Lab partners refusing to work together, roommates refused to talk to each other….overall not a very pleasant learning environment. :)

Referee: “You guys make my job so simple, you start apologizing even before I blow the whistle.”

There were no losers in the end, the score was 0-0 but it was one of the best games we have ever played.

Summer Conference 2007

July 10, 2007

This past weekend I was at Georgian College with my church, Don Mills Baptist Church. Even though I was piled up with school work I was a good weekend to reflect, learn and spend time with friends!

We all met at church and rented a school bus to take us to Barrie. This was Eric trying to use his body to stop the bags from toppling over!

The main worship/lounge area. My character of the weekend was WONDER WOMAN (thanks Horace)!

Volleyball tournament, with random bonuses and handicaps…the pirates kept losing because they had absolutely no depth perception.

The last activity was to design an egg drop. We could use the points we earned from the previous group games to purchase the building material. Some really cool design and some cool splashes.

Thank you for the planning committee for making it happen and ensure things ran smoothly.
Pointing to the happy faces on his shoulder, “Ian are you trying to be copy Tim?”
Kathy and Shirley, next year we will get you back….with interest.
