About 13hrs into my flight to Hong Kong, I remembered why I haven’t gone back in the past 10 years. Long distance flying sucks. My stomach was acting so when we were landing I was holding onto the barf bag. My aunts have been my guides and now I am settled in my room in Mei Foo, which is 1 minute away from a bus interchange terminal and subway station.
Hong Kong is everything opposite of the city that I have grown used to. Everything is so fast and so close. The weather is not too hot and I am gradually getting used to it. When you step outside you will inevitably get a little ‘sticky’ but I guess that is alright as long as everyone else is like that!
I had high hopes of revisiting many of the places that I remember from my childhood. Maybe I am over romanticizing on these memories, or they have been demolished and replaced by apartment complexes. Either way seems like lots of exploring and re-discovering, I will keep you posted!
