Europe Trip – Zell Am See

November 26, 2010

We arrived in Zell Am See, a town at the foot of the Austrian Alps.

The weather was already turning chilly and in the peak of autumn.

We roamed around town and visited some of the retired freight trains.

An interesting orament.

Rescue helicopter doing routine training. Reminds me of the game Choplifter!

We took the Schmittenhöhebahn AG, a cable car up that took us to the peak of Schmittenhöhe. A breath-taking view from the top!

Paragliding from the top of the mountain, looks like so much fun!

Zell Am See from the other side of the lake.

  2. Hi some great shots, sums up the area, did you visit Tauern Spa Kaprun? which opened early November 2010

The Schmittem has now opened up for Ski-ing so the shots must have been taken very early in the month?

The sheep don’t look very Austria?
