Oh no, I caved in and got the Pentax K-5 & the SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR combo.
The 18-135mm is really fast at focusing while being fairly compact, I think this will replace my 18-250mm my walk-around lens. Photo taken on Ping Chau over the weekend.
The live view functions are pretty fast and convenient. ISO800 with 31mm at F/2.0.
ISO3200 with 31mm. Pretty darn impressive and I was able to pull off some decent portraits inside the dim restaurant setting.
For those interested in some comparisons, see how the Pentax K-5 stack up against the Canon 7D.
Obligatory ISO12,800 shot, handheld at 160mm, 1/30s, F/5.6.
A crop of the above image. Still a lot of details!
Leaving Hong Kong today, see you on the other side!
Oh no you don’t Sam… the K-5 is awfully tempting…

The one of the old lady at the beginning is epic.
