Boston Week 1

Sam Boston, Street Life, Thoughts 3 Comments

So I arrived in Boston after a 14hr bus ride consisting of many stopovers and last-minute bus hopping while carring 2 luggage and my gigantic backpack.

The city is very beautiful and in general seems to be very clean and well maintained. The downside is that it is expensive (except their $1 McChicken!).

US is pretty weird, so far I have been invited to a prom, have a Chinatown grocery market employee call me good friend and wants me to teach him English and go to his house for dinner, and after buying $2 of stuff from the dollar store I asked to use her phone but instead the owner gave me 25cents to use the payphone….

I went downtown on Sunday with my roommate and co-worker Seiji (he is also a Waterloo coop in his 4th year). Here are some pictures:

Don’t their City Hall look like MC? (for those who don’t go to UW, that is our Math building)

Boston downtown has mostly one way streets.

Quincy Market, a tourist one-stop for Boston goodies.

My first time going to a circus!

“Chinatown grocery market employee call me good friend and wants me to teach him English and go to his house for dinner”

I’m sure he confused you with some other Chinese…”you all look alike!”

Hey man, nice pics. Looks like you’re having fun in Boston :)
So far, things have been pretty smooth for me. It’s interseting working for a chip company– very different than my last one.

Yeah.. US is kinda weird.. but the ppl i met so far are all very nice. Though this area is crazy rich– they barely even have public transit– only ppl who take the bus are the poor mexicans and me. haha.

Your bday coming up eh? Have a great bday — treat yourself to something nice. Let me know if you want some sort of camera equipement. I’ll contribute $50 =)

    Take care!
